The Fastest Growing Sport in the US

Lacrosse is the oldest and fastest growing sport in North America. It

was originally played by Native American tribes to heal the sick, prepare their warriors for battle, resolve conflicts, build strength and virility, and give thanks to the creator. Many Native Americans still refer to lacrosse as the “Creator’s Game “or the “Medicine Game”. When white men took interest, they nicknamed it the “Little Brother of War”. Some games were played by hundreds of players on fields that were several hundred yards long.Today lacrosse is considered as 2 games 1 sport because rules, equipment, and field dimensions are different for boys lacrosse than girls lacrosse.

Grow the Game; Honor the Game

Our Mission:

Sioux Falls Lacrosse was founded to bring the sport of lacrosse to the masses in South Dakota.  Lacrosse is a sport that is fast-paced and fun to watch.   It offers excellent cross-training benefits for other sports such as hockey, soccer, football, and basketball with skills that transfer directly and fitness benefits that other sports don't offer.  Athletes will build good hand-eye coordination, improve speed, agility, and endurance and learn to honor and respect the history and culture of lacrosse.

We're always looking for communities to bring lacrosse into.  If you would like to find out how to bring lacrosse into your youth sports mix, contact us!  If you know anyone who used to play lacrosse growing up or in college, tell them about us or tell us about them.. Thank you.
